Frequently Asked Questions
Equipment Procurement, Trade Discounts & Layout Planning.
Straight answers on how we put together your equipment shopping list, share our supplier trade discounts, and plan rooms across London and the UK.
01 · Equipment Shopping List
How does the gym equipment procurement and shopping list process work?
Once we agree on your room layout, I put together a clear, itemised equipment shopping list tailored to your budget. For every piece of kit, the list shows the exact brand, model, dimensions, finish, and supplier link. You then order directly from the suppliers using our trade introductions, so you stay in full control of your budget and warranties from day one.
02 · Shared Trade Discounts
Do I pay full retail price for gym equipment, or do you pass on trade discounts?
You will almost never pay full retail price. Because we specify equipment regularly across home, residential, and hotel projects, many leading suppliers offer us trade pricing. Whenever a brand provides a trade discount, we pass part of that saving directly on to you, which often offsets a large portion of our consultancy fee.
03 · Independent Brand Selection
Are you tied to one gym equipment brand, or can we mix and match suppliers?
We are completely independent and never tied to a single catalogue. A great gym blends the best kit from leading specialists—such as a Technogym or Life Fitness treadmill, an Eleiko, Rogue, or Watson rack and calibrated plates, NOHRD timber pieces, a Keiser pneumatic or dual cable pulley, a Concept2 SkiErg, and a studio Reformer Pilates bed—picked purely on merit for your space.
04 · Delivery & Installation
Who handles equipment delivery, assembly, and lead times?
Commercial and luxury home gym equipment is delivered and assembled on site by the manufacturers' own specialist installation teams. As part of your equipment shopping list, we flag realistic lead times for each brand and help you time deliveries around your flooring or building schedule so machines do not arrive before the room is ready.
05 · Transparent Fees
How much does your gym design consultancy cost?
Our pricing is straightforward: a £700 base fee for the room assessment, 2D/3D CAD spatial planning, and layout preview, plus 5% of your target equipment budget to research and build your itemised equipment shopping list. You can check your exact fee in seconds using our online pricing calculator above.
06 · Working With Your Builder
Do you carry out building work, or work alongside my builder or interior designer?
We are gym designers and equipment consultants rather than builders. We focus on 2D/3D CAD spatial planning, biomechanical traffic flow, exercise clearances, and your exact equipment shopping list. Your own RIBA architect, interior designer, or contractor carries out any physical works using our layout plan—including acoustic sub-flooring, impact sound attenuation, floor-load capacity, HVAC climate control, circadian lighting, custom joinery, and bespoke steelwork.
07 · Home vs. Commercial Spaces
What is the difference between planning a private home gym and a residential or hotel gym?
A private home gym is built around the specific routines of you and your family, often combining cardio with free weights, cables, or Reformer Pilates. Across residential developments, boutique hotels, commercial studios, and gym refurbishments, multiple users train at peak hours, so we map biomechanical traffic flow and durable commercial kit so nobody queues for the same zone.
08 · London Room Layouts
Can you design a gym for an awkward room, basement, or low ceiling in London?
Yes. Many London homes and period buildings in Hampstead, Highgate, Mayfair, Kensington, Chelsea, and Knightsbridge have low basement ceilings, chimney breasts, or L-shaped rooms. We check exact rack heights, overhead press clearance, and barbell loading space in our 2D/3D layout before anything is ordered so every piece fits comfortably.
